john's been my mechanic for decades, & i was the mailman in town for 25 years, 24 of them using my own vehicles. he kept them running & up to code, sometimes on very short notice. my highest recommendations.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We were driving from Connecticut to Lake George, NY when our transmission light suddenly came on. We pulled off the first available exit, and smoke was pouring out from under the hood—it was clear our transmission was overheating. In a bit of a panic, we searched Google and found Troy’s Garage just down the road. It felt like pure luck, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to end up. When we arrived, John came out to assess the situation, and right away, we knew we were in good hands. He quickly realized that we were in a tight spot, especially since we were traveling with our 3-year-old son. John didn’t hesitate—he immediately put the car on the lift to inspect it. His attention to detail was remarkable. He diagnosed that the transmission had been overfilled, causing the overheating, and performed a flush and refilled it to the correct level. Thanks to John’s expertise and care, we were able to safely turn around and switch to another vehicle for the rest of our trip. We’re so incredibly grateful for his help. Even though it took a few extra hours to reach our destination, John truly saved the day. If you ever find yourself in need of car repairs in the West Stockbridge area, Troy’s Garage is the place to go. We hope to never need their services again, but if we do, we know exactly where we’ll be going. Highly recommend!
