Relatively new in town, I tried the first mechanic I came across and got a quote that felt a bit high, especially since I mentioned I only planned to keep my car another year. A few people recommended Greenfield Auto Specialists for a second opinion, and I’m glad they did. They handled the work at a more reasonable price, took care of a couple of extra issues, and even ran the car over for inspection (above and beyond). I’ve definitely found my go-to shop.

My first ever car-buying experience was great at Greenfield Auto Specialists for my 2015 Prius V! John (in sales) was very responsive and helpful. He listened to all of my concerns, and unlike other used car salespeople, was honest and upfront with me about the risks and unknowns of buying a 10-year-old car. We even had a conversation about the widespread issue in the automotive industry of women not being taken seriously in the car buying process, so he has an awareness and sensitivity to that made me feel more comfortable. The whole process was quick and they had me go to the RMV myself for the registration (took less than 30 minutes) so I didn't have to pay a ridiculous doc fee like most other car dealers. John made sure I had everything I needed so it was absolutely seamless which was a pleasant surprise. I had an issue with the parking break that was necessary to pass state inspection, and John (in repairs) took care of it for me under my warranty and even let me borrow a shop car so I could get to work on time! Everyone there is super nice and helpful :) Thanks so much to the Johns for a seamless, no BS first car buying experience!

TLDR: They used the wrong oil even after we asked to verify they had the correct one. – After our vehicle ran out of its extended warranty, we were looking for a new independent shop to maintain our VW Touareg tdi and booked an appointment for an oil change. At drop off, I asked a specific question to verify that they were using the required VW 507 spec oil because we have a dpf system. The gentleman at the counter said “yes of course, we know what we're doing”. He seemed annoyed by the question but that wasn't a big deal. But when I inspected the invoice, they used the wrong oil. VW 505 was used which is designed for older tdis without a dpf system and not recommended for a newer tdi. It won't ruin the system after only one oil change but it's not correct and we won't be returning. Too bad.

We have been buying our cars and having them fixed at Greenfield Auto Specialists since 2011 and it's always a great experience. We tend to like our cars a bit on the older side and Jonathan and Bill and crew are great at keeping them in tip top shape. Buying a car from John is easy and no-pressure.
