Do not go this shop. Went for a flat tire. They told me that Tesla tires have a foam inside so we mostly cannot do it but let my mechanic check it. Asked me if I am ok with patching as it might ruin sensors and cause imbalances. I said I am ok with that as I didn’t want to replace all tires. After an hour I get a call that thread depth is too much and you need to replace all tires which was going to cost $400 more than Tesla. I said no even after he tried to convince me a lot and that I will just pick up my car. When I went to pick up my car it was parked across a brick edge with good height that it would brush the cars bottom. While taking it out he bumped the car twice (back and front). Then after getting it out said “let me take a look as you seemed concerned”. Obviously I will be concerned to see you bump my car twice in front of my eyes. I said “yes you just bumped it”. His reply was “I am sure you bump it all the time”. If you care about your car and don’t want to get scammed then don’t go here. Unnecessarily damaged my car for a flat tire.

This shop was a wonderful surprise! I chose it because of the Google and Yelp reviews and the proximity to my apartment. I brought my MINI Cooper to PCC-Watertown because the engine light was on and I was having trouble starting the car whenever I filled the gas tank. When I made the appointment online, I included both the symptoms and what I thought the problem could be because I didn't want to be bamboozled. I've really had no problems with my MINI (7 years old, owned for the last 4). Ed (the service rep) let me know that they have a mechanic dedicated to German-made cars who was well-versed with BMWs and MINIs. Not only is he a very kind and personable guy, but it turns out that it was, indeed, one of the things I had suggested. Ed explained everything about it to me in non-mechanic language, which I really appreciated. The price was very reasonable, and bottom line: no more start-up problems after filling the tank. My MINI is purring like the kitten that she is! I will definitely and happily be using PCC-Watertown for service of my Cooper for the foreseeable future. I highly recommend to other MINI owners.

I would recommend avoiding Pleasant Car Care unless you have a lot of money and love throwing it away. I brought my car in for a specific issue and was quoted $1,900. Suddenly, that amount increased to $3,100 (after getting approved for financing only for the initial amount). After scraping together the funds, I got my car back and the initial issue I brought it in for hadn't even been fixed. Then, I was told that I would need to pay an additional $2,000 for a new issue they caught in order to pass inspection. I declined and my car still passed inspection two years in a row after without any additional work. Based on other reviews, quoting unneeded repairs to pass an inspection is a scam they pull often. I was in a horrible place in my life/struggling with my health and didn't have the bandwidth to push back or get a second opinion. I went in debt just for my car to still have the same issue. I just took it to another mechanic and the initial issue that I spent $3,100 at Pleasant Car Care to NOT fix will only cost around $300. I just paid off my initial debt after 1.5 years and the cost of the "repairs" caused added emotional stress to an already incredibly difficult time. I wish I had the energy and strength then to realize I was being scammed. I cannot emphasize enough- if you are a woman or you don't know much about your car DO NOT go to Pleasant Car Care. You will get scammed with scare tactics and they will milk you for every penny you agree to cough up.

Not recommended. I’ll try to be as fair as can be and start with positives. Pros: 1) I found Ed to be friendly and respectful. 2) I think they did identify an issue that could’ve become worse if not addressed. 3) The free loaner is a nice perk when you need it and the free Lyft ride can definitely be helpful. Now onto the cons. I had an experience which if you look closely through the reviews you’ll see many people faced similar circumstances. Essentially they try to pressure/convince you to do all kinds of extra work you didn’t come in for, overcharge you for it, and since they are clearly trying to churn through as many jobs as they can they don’t take the time to verify their work. I came in for a simple oil change on my car but shortly after they sent me a video saying there’s all kinds of issues that need to be fixed due to a failing oil separator causing over pressurization and causing oil leaks in several locations. Suddenly a $150 job jumps to $3000. They did not give me any kind of written estimate, just claimed they got a “great price” on everything. Unfortunately I needed to drive far later that day and was forced to take the free loaner. Later on I called and asked for a detailed quote and found their “great prices” on parts were quite terrible compared to anything I could get on any online shop or even directly from VW. They also tried charging me at least 2 times as much as anywhere else for parts and labor on the oil separator replacement. I had to personally confront them on this to bring the price down. From what I can tell, their labor charge is over $250/hr. I asked twice to hold off on some of the work and only do the oil separator at first but they were quite insistent, even offering extra financing to help them guarantee their big paycheck. I even mentioned I didn’t see a drop of oil where I park everyday but they claimed it can pool in the cars skid plate before becoming noticeable. When they finished the work I found a massive pool of oil under my car the very next day. Apparently the overly expensive oil pan and gasket were defective and didn’t seal properly. What upset me the most was this was a job they insisted on doing to keep the car in good condition and they didn’t even bother to verify a proper seal before handing it off to me. Not living up to that high labor cost. Easily could’ve completely destroyed my car. My advice is to take your car elsewhere and keep it FAR away from these incompetent clowns.

We had a good experience. It was a referral from our roommate. We came in with an emergency that incurred from a 3,000 mile road trip. The repair is pricey then again we are in the Boston area. Great customer service, did a test ride with us, changed serpentine belt, alternator and oil pan and gasket. We were happy great job!
