I’m giving this shop 2 stars only because the wheel alignment itself seems to have turned out okay. The truck drives better after the alignment, so I will give them credit for that. The major problem I had was the way they tried to upsell me shocks. I brought my truck in because the alignment was clearly off. The toe was off, and the tire wear pattern showed that. For people who do not know cars, toe is the angle of the tires pointing slightly inward or outward. When toe is out of adjustment, it can quickly scrub the tires and create uneven wear. That is exactly why I brought the truck in for an alignment. Instead of just addressing the alignment issue, they told me I needed shocks because of “cupping” on the tires. In my opinion, that was a very questionable recommendation. I have been a professional mechanic my entire life, and the wear I saw was consistent with an alignment/toe issue, not bad shocks. It felt like they saw an opportunity to sell extra parts and labor to someone they assumed did not know any better. That is what really bothered me. The average customer who does not know much about cars might have trusted them and spent a lot of unnecessary money on shocks they may not have needed. That kind of upselling is exactly why people do not trust repair shops. The alignment appears to be good, but the experience made me lose trust in this shop completely. I felt misled, and I would be very cautious about approving any additional repairs they recommend. My advice: if this shop tells you that you need extra parts or repairs beyond what you came in for, get a second opinion before spending your money. Especially if they start blaming tire wear on shocks, suspension parts, or other expensive repairs. Do not just take their word for it.
